My name is Amanda, but many of you may know me as “Muttz Cutz”. I sold Muttz Cutz to Meghan, who is a wonderful person that worked under me training for about 5 years. With the sale of Muttz Cutz to her, I decided to rebrand myself. Which is where we are now. But….
It all begins with a young kid who wanted to be a veterinarian. However, those dreams went on a detour after high school when I joined the Navy Seabees. While in the service I took advantage of the benefits and started college. When I left the military, I started working as a vet clinic as a Kennel Tech. There they also trained me to help as a Tech assistant. This is also where I learned basic pet grooming skills.
Then we moved here to the area. When we first got here, I got a job working part time at the post office and was also caring for my mom who had medical problems. When I quit the post office, I started working for a local groomer who helped me refine my skills. She then retired, and I started Muttz Cutz. Six and a half years later I sold it and started MB&P.
With the start of MB&P, I wanted to take the time to reband not only myself as a professional, but also the way we think of pet care. I no longer wanted to be known as “just a groomer” with it’s “just a bath,” “just a haircut,” or “just a dog.” Which is where Pet Hygienist comes to play. I want the best for my clients and their pets. I regularly take continuing education classes to make sure that I am indeed doing the best I can for them.
